Career path for aerial firefighting?
I am 23 years old, CFI & CFII about 320 hours mostly in 172′s and 182′s. I would like to find out anything I can about wildland firefighting, specifically what I can do to have a shot at flying for the government or one of the companies that they contract with. I guess a SEAT would be my real goal, but I’m mostly wanting to know how you even get started in that field. Right now I’m building hours (and trying to pay bills) looking for maybe a pipeline patrol job in a 206 or 210. I’m also looking at ag spraying, but firefighting interests me more. I’m not good at farming, I’ve tried. Should I try to join the volunteer department here in town, or maybe the rural fire protection guys, or will that make a difference? Should I aim for multi/turbine or tailwheel rating first, and what job experience will translate into a firefighting job?
Trying to figure out my career (firefighting)?
So i started to think to my self , want job would i enjoy that i won’t get bored of , stay in shape , and be proud of.

i know that it wont be easy , and school is necessary and getting fit
but im worried that the money would not be good
and school may be hard
and im not sure what classes should i take in high school
Is it possible to be both a firefighter and Arson investigator at the same time?
Im currently pursuing a career in Firefighting. I was wondering if i can get a degree and become an Arson Investigator, but still be a Volunteer firefighter. I want to be an Investigator but I NEED to fight fires and save lives or property. Is it possible to do both jobs?

Do you agree with women only requiring lesser weight limits lifting to become a firefighter?
Doesn’t this jeopardize the lives of those in a burning building if a female can’t lift him/her?
Why is it that there a quotas for women in the firefighting profession, even though getting a job is supposed to be based on how you perform and your merits/experience.
If women are only needing to meet less strict merits than men does that not mean men are systematically more merited for the career of firefighting and yet are not getting the jobs.
Isn’t this the feminist definition of sexism? Only reversed onto men?
